A man wanted in last week's shooting death of a Petersburg man was arrested this afternoon in Chesterfield County, police said.

Norman Jose Carcamo Arias, who authorities said is between 23 and 25 years old, was charged with murder in Friday's slaying of Josiel Venturi Garcia-Orbina, who was found dead in Petersburg's Summit Pointe apartment complex on Norman Street about 2 a.m.

Police spokeswoman Esther Hyatt said no motive has been established in the killing, and Arias' connection to the victim is still being investigated.

Hyatt said police from Richmond, Chesterfield County and the U.S. Marshal Service assisted in Arias' arrest.

Garcia-Orbina's death is Petersburg's first homicide of the year.
