-- A Honduras native is being sought as a person of interest in Petersburg's first homicide of the year.

Norman José Carcamo Arias, 23 to 25 years old, is wanted for questioning in the death of Josiel Venturi Garcia-Orbina, who was found shot to death about 2 a.m. today in the Summit Pointe apartment complex on Norman Street, Petersburg police said.

Investigators believe Arias may have traveled to the Richmond area. He was reported seen about 3:45 p.m. on Jefferson Davis Highway near the Bells Road exit.

Police did not provide a motive for the slaying or say how Arias knows the victim.

Arias was described as Hispanic, 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 165 pounds with short black hair and brown eyes. Anyone with information can call Crime Solvers at 804-861-1212.
