Richmond-area faith leaders are coming together Wednesday to pray for peace in the Gaza Strip.
The event is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Bon Air Presbyterian Church, 9201 W. Huguenot Road.
Organizers include Rabbi Ben Romer of Congregation Or Ami, Imad Damaj of the Virginia Muslim Coalition for Public Affairs, and Rev. R. Charles Grant of Bon Air Presbyterian.
"In this tense time, and with the complexities of our shared but also particular religious traditions, we wish to elevate public awareness for the tragedies and bloodshed in Gaza (and throughout the Middle East)," organizers wrote in a press release about the event. "We do not presume to have answers, nor is this gathering to propose political solutions. We gather in solidarity with one another and in prayer with one another and for peace in the region."

I think it is great that faith leaders are gathering to pray. I have to disagree with (plm68) that we should view Muslims as the “bad guys analogous to the devil”. That is very inaccurate. All Palestinians and Arabs do not support terrorism. My heart and prayers go out to the innocent people who are being killed, both Jewish and Palestinians. We should all prayer for peace.

Sorry people but you have been doing this since 1950 with no results. Instead of burying your heads in the sand, how about lifting them up to see the ongoing carnage of human suffering inflicted by Palistinians and Arabs throughout the middle east?
Do you provide leadership and problem resolution or stand around while Gaza burns? The muslims are the bad guys analogus to the devil—ever hear of him?
