Kaine to deliver State of Commonwealth address tonight

Gov. Timothy M. Kaine tonight addresses both houses of the Virginia General Assembly with his State of the Commonwealth address.
The 7 p.m. speech informally kicks off the legislature's final session working with Kaine, whose term expires next January.
Kaine and the General Assembly are trying to patch a $3.2 billion budget deficit because of declining tax revenues.
Kaine, who is proposing cutting Medicaid funding by $418 million, expects a federal stimulus package to include money for Medicaid, as well as for infrastructure.

How can Timmy tell us the state of the Commonwealth when he’s only working part-time for the state?
He’s also going to tell us tonight that while the state is $3 billion-plus in the hole, he’s going to ram home environmental regulations that will slow down new home building even more than the economy has done, cause bigger deficits in local governments from loss of property tax revenue and generally keep new investment that could help alleviate that $3 billion-plus hole.
Oh, and has anyone heard yet that the Navy is putting its newest nuclear-powered aircraft carrier in Jacksonville instead of Norfolk? Guess Timmy hasn’t got that sway with The Obama yet, eh?
What an idiot. November 2009 can’t come soon enough.

Part of his speech will cover how great it is to be just five days from freedom.
It will still be uncool to ‘bash the president in time of war’ six days from now.

Hopefully it will be a short speech as we wouldn’t want Tim to be late to work for his real job.
