Gas follows oil’s rise on Middle East unrest

-- Gas prices shot up 15 cents per gallon in the Richmond area in the past week, AAA Mid-Atlantic reports.
A gallon of regular was $1.67 a gallon here this morning on average, compared with $1.52 last Sunday. The Richmond average is well below the national average of $1.79 a gallon. The average price in Virginia is $1.68, AAA said.
Crude oil fluctuated between $40 and $50 a barrel during the week as fighting raged in Gaza.
Still, this is the slowest time of the year for gasoline sales. That and a struggling U.S. economy are keeping prices down, AAA said.

Like I said several weeks ago. Look out here it comes again. we have a surplus and neither of these countries produce a drop of oil but here go the prices up ward again with no relation to the price per barrel. The gougers are out in force.
