Three senior aides to former Richmond Mayor L. Douglas Wilder won't be part of the new administration of Mayor Dwight C. Jones.

Wilder's Press Secretary Linwood Norman, as well as Senior Policy Adviser Kim Neal and Policy Adviser and nephew Isaac Graves are no longer employed by the city, spokesman Michael Wallace said yesterday.

Wallace would not say whether the three quit or were fired but added that their city service ended last week.

Neal and Graves had reported being reassigned to other city departments after Jones took office Jan. 1, and employees had described Norman working elsewhere in City Hall. Efforts to reach them yesterday were unsuccessful.

What about his Chief of Staff, Sandra Robinson?  Is she still on the dole?  Anybody who planned and participated in the Schools eviction and the huge pay raises for themselves needs to be gone.

Heck, I’m not surprised that they aren’t part of Jones’ administration—actually this is what I expected. These few people Wilder had were Henchmen. That’s a totally different role than what Jones is trying to fill for the city.

The more the new administration can distance themselves with the old administration, the better off our Capital City will be. Mr. Wilder clearly had a problem working well with others for common cause (or any cause for that matter). The City can, and will,  be a much nicer place without Wilder in the driver’s seat.

Good, they were as useless as teats on a bull frog.
