Wrongly convicted man seeks writ of actual innocence

Lawyers for Johnathan Montgomery and the Virginia Attorney General's office are asking the Virginia Court of Appeals to resume expedited consideration of his petition for a writ of actual innocence.

In March both sides asked the court to stay the case until the woman who falsely testified he sexually assaulted her, Elizabeth Paige Coast, had been convicted and sentenced for perjury.
