| LOOKING BACK |
Righty reliever Mark Eichhorn was on the mound for the R-Braves during a Sunday-afternoon game vs. Toledo in 1989. Right-handed-hitting Mud Hen Domingo Michel used an exaggerated closed stance, with his left foot near the plate, and his right foot spread far away from home. Eichhorn was known for his very slow, wide-breaking, sidearm curve. He threw one to Michel, who didn't move, figuring he would reach by getting plunked in the hind parts by the soft toss. The ball went between Michel's legs and was caught by R-Braves catcher John Mizerock.
