Here's a snapshot of emergency calls during the week of July 28-Aug. 4, as reported by Metro Richmond fire departments.

RICHMOND

Fire Calls: 191 Emergency Medical Calls: 399 EMS: Cardiac arrests (4), chest pain (36), breathing problems (132), shootings (6), stabbings (2), unconsciousness (88).

Significant Events:

  • Fire: 6808 Midlothian Turnpike. Cooking fire contained to ventilation system of commercial building.
  • Fire: 2624 Lancelot Ave. Vacant single-family dwelling fully involved. Total loss; fire is under investigation.
  • Fire: 1419 Lynhaven Ave. Kitchen fire in a single-family dwelling. Cause: unattended cooking.
  • Fire: 2405 Coles St. Single-family dwelling with fire damage to one room, smoke and heat damage throughout. Under investigation.

    CHESTERFIELD

    Fire Calls: 208 Emergency Medical Calls: 494

    HENRICO

    Significant Events:

  • Fire: 3100 block of Winchester Street. Heavy fire damage to one bedroom and smoke damage throughout single-family dwelling. Under investigation.
  • Fire: 6602 S. Laburnum Avenue. Accidental fire contained to machinery at Nabisco.
  • Fire: 1900 block of South Battery Drive. Heavy damage to second floor of single-family dwelling. Cause: Lightning.
  • Missing person: Jamerson Place. Person located using Project Lifesaver with assistance from Henrico County Division of Police and Henrico Sheriff's Office.
  • Industrial accident: Construction worker fell at West Broad Village site, resulting in fatal injuries.
  • Vehicle accident: West Broad Street at the Interstate 64 interchange in Short Pump. Vehicle and motorcycle collided, resulting in fatal injuries to the motorcycle rider.

    HANOVER

    Fire Calls: 117 Emergency Medical Calls: 179 EMS: Cardiac arrests (3), diabetic emergencies (3), choking (1).

    Significant Events:

  • Hazardous-materials incident: July 30 on Meadowbridge Road and Aug. 2 on Kings Dominion Boulevard.
