Petersburg detectives are seeking witnesses to a pair of violent incidents during the weekend, including a fatal shooting outside a nightclub early Saturday.
Police yesterday continued to investigate the gunfire that left a 24-year-old man dead and another man injured outside Tony's Disco at 101 Halifax St.
Separately, officers were called to the scene of a drive-by shooting in the 300 block of Mistletoe Drive, less than a mile from the nightclub.
A victim was taken to VCU Medical Center in Richmond with a shotgun wound to the face about 3:30 p.m. yesterday, said Esther Hyatt, a Petersburg police spokeswoman. His condition was not immediately available.
Saturday's shooting was at 2 a.m., about the same time the club closes, police said. The victim, who has not been identified by police, died at Southside Regional Medical Center at 5:30 a.m.
Another man received a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the hand during that shooting, Hyatt said. An argument inside the nightclub continued outside, where fighting broke out and shots were fired, Hyatt said.
Hyatt said police believe there were several people outside the club at the time of the shooting who could have information about the perpetrators, who fled in a car.
