Develop your "chops" during the Richmond Youth Jazz Guild's Summer Jazz Boot Camp from 9 a.m. to noon July 14-25, 2008.

The 10-day workshop is open to musicians ages 10-18 of all skill levels. The session offers an immersion in jazz music and improvisation. Musicians in the areas of brass, woodwind, piano, bass and drums are encouraged to participate.

Students will be instructed by professional musicians from the Jazz Composers Alliance Inc. Programming includes jazz ensemble training, improvisational theory and technique, master classes, jazz history and jam sessions.

Tuition is $220.
