Richmond Alumnae Panhellenic lists 2008 Junior Book Awards

The Richmond Alumnae Panhellenic Association has announced the recipients of the 2008 Junior Book Award given to area high school junior women.

Junior women who have shown academic achievement, philanthropic service, community involvement, strong leadership skills, and a positive attitude were recognized with the award.

They received books donated by the University of Richmond Panhellenic Association.

The following students were recognized for the award:

Laneka Brown from Open High School, Erin Anderson from Deep Run High School, Maribeth Hernandez from Godwin High School, Zorynee Lewis from Henrico High School, Anita Puerto from Hermitage High School, Anna Bailey Britt from J.R. Tucker High School, Natalie Roper from Atlee High School, Michelle A. Kennedy from Hanover High School, Kelly Cattoi from Lee-Davis High School, Claire Waldrip from Patrick Henry High School, Amber "Alex" Lombardi from Clover Hill Math/Science Center, Mary Katherine Mehaffey from Clover Hill High School, Patricia E. Katzman from Cosby High School, Stephanie G. Hubbard from James River High School, Martha R. Jones from L.C. Bird High School, Kara Elisabeth Heird from Manchester High School.

Also, Heather Bansbach from Matoaca High School, Christina Nestor from Meadowbrook High School, Katie O'Keefe from Midlothian High School/International Baccalaureate, Meredith Graham from Midlothian High School, Margot B. Kennett from Monacan High School, Christian Noelle Garland from Thomas Dale High School, Jordan Lee Hall from Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot Academy, Molly Shreves Awad from Saint Gertrude High School, Elizabeth S. Farmer from The Steward School, and Corinne Young from Trinity Episcopal School.

The Richmond Alumnae Panhellenic Association organized in 1952 is a community-based organization, affiliated with the National Panhellenic Conference, whose membership is composed of representative alumnae from NPC member group sororities. Currently, the National Panhellenic Conference comprises 26 member groups.
