Honorary societies at W&L initiate three Virginians

Twenty-one Washington and Lee University students have been selected for membership in Beta Gamma Sigma national honorary business fraternity and Omicron Delta Epsilon national economics fraternity.

New Beta Gamma Sigma members include Class of 2008 initiate Christopher Roberts Wornom of Richmond, Va., son of Dr. And Mrs. Isaac L. Wornom III, and Class of 2009 initiate Victoria Louise Christmas of Richmond, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. James T. Christmas.

New Omicron Delta Epsilon members include Class of 2008 initiate Martha Caulkins of Lynchburg, Va., daughter of Drs. Michael and Pamela Caulkins.

The objectives of Beta Gamma Sigma national business honorary are to encourage and reward scholarship and accomplishment among students of business and management, to promote the advancement of education in the art and science of business, and to foster integrity in the conduct of business operations.

The objectives of Omicron Delta Epsilon national economics honorary are to confer distinction for high scholastic achievement in economics and to stimulate and promote student interest in all aspects of economics. Membership in ODE is limited to economics majors.

The initiation ceremony and banquet for both societies were held May 1 at the school in Lexington, Va.
