Primland is a 14,000-acre resort offering golfers, hunters, fly fishing enthusiasts and all who love outdoor activities the ultimate in recreational facilities plus on-site access to a well provisioned Orvis Outfitters Shop. Set high in Virginia’s majestic Blue Ridge Mountains.

For golfers: The Highland Course at Primland, designed by internationally renowned golf architect Donald Steel, is destined to rank among the world’s best. Laid out on an inspiring mountain plateau, the golf course is reminiscent of those found in the Highlands of Scotland. The design, which has a distinct Scottish links look, takes advantage of a relatively flat piece of the mountain top almost 2900 feet above sea level. The views of the Dan River Gorge and The Pinnacles of Dan, (which can be seen from eight holes) are breathtaking.
For hunters: whether their passion is Wingshooting, European style shooting, deer hunting or patiently calling in the elusive wild turkey, there is no better preserve in the nation. Primland’s deer population is estimated at over 1,000 and pheasant hunting is considered our specialty. Even non-hunters can test their shooting skills at a five-stand trap facility or on a mile-long, fifteen-station Sporting Clays course Esquire Magazine rated as one of the top twenty-five in the nation.
For mountain hikers, bikers and ATV riders: and for the equestrian, there are miles and miles of woodland trails to explore. Click here to find out more.
Primland is the ideal venue for get-a-way weekends, family vacations, client entertainment, and highly productive business meetings or for those special events in life where the natural splendor of a pristine mountain setting will add to both the enjoyment and the memories of the occasion.
