CarMax establishes scholarship in Sharp's honor

CarMax Inc. has established a $250,000 endowed scholarship for Richmond-area high school graduates in honor of its founder and retired board chairman, Richard L. Sharp.

The company announced the CarMax-Rick Sharp Entrepreneur Scholarship during a ceremony Monday to dedicate the company’s first store — which opened nearly 20 years ago on West Broad Street in western Henrico County — to Sharp.
